Surprise of the Year
Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Surprise,
surprise! Following the conversion to mid-engined, the Corvette team
continues to surprise its fans and outsiders with the new Z06. It
abandons the traditional small-block push-rod V8 for a brand-new
5.5-liter DOHC and flat-plane crank V8 that mimics Ferrari's V8. 124
horsepower per liter, 8600 rpm redline and a torque curve peaking at
6300 rpm all sound very un-Corvette. Now the Z06 is truly a junior
supercar.
