AutoZine Awards 2018

Surprise of the Year

Kia Stinger GT
Frankly, Kia Stinger GT is not the only car worth this title. However, in terms of significance it should outweigh others. The car might not be as good as the best German rivals at this moment, but it previews a promising future for the premium cars coming from Kia and Hyundai in the near future. Thanks to the arrival of ex-BMW M engineering chief Albert Biermann, the car is fast and fun to drive, something cannot be said to any Korean cars preceding it. More surprising still, it aims to rival German premium cars instead of any mainstream brands. As a first attempt, it has already exceeded everybody's expectation.
