McLaren GTS

McLaren GT has evolved into GTS. Despite the name change, this is just a very slight evolution. The V8 has its ECU tweaked to deliver 635 hp, just 15 hp more than before, while torque is unchanged. The car is said to be 10 kg lighter than before at 1520 kg. 0-60 mph is unchanged at 3.1 sec, while 124 mph is arrived merely a tenth earlier at 8.9 seconds. Top speed remains at 203 mph. It is still incredibly fast for a so-called GT, but that's not news.

Changes to the exterior is even more subtle. You will be difficult to spot the slightly larger front intakes and slightly taller air scoops above the rear fenders. Inside, there are some new trims and colours but the architecture and infotainment system are untouched.

Mercedes-AMG CLE53

Fortunately, the AMG model of CLE does not follow the footprints of C43 to downgrade to 4-cylinder engine. Instead, it is given the company's 3-liter straight six, which has been updated to M256M. Redesigned inlet and outlet ports, fuel injection, a larger exhaust gas turbo and a modified electric supercharger lift its maximum boost pressure from 1.1 to 1.5 bar, resulting in 449 horsepower (up from 435 hp). Maximum torque is 413 lbft or 442 lbft on overboost for 12 seconds, significantly more than the previous 383 lbft. As before, an ISG mild-hybrid system can add another 23 hp and 151 lbft in certain conditions, although its main function is to save fuel. 0-60 mph takes 4 seconds flat. Top speed is limited to 155 mph, but can be lifted to 168 mph with AMG driver package.

The CLE53 has 4matic+, 4-wheel steering and adaptive dampers fitted as standard. Needless to say, it features also wider tracks (+58mm front and +75mm rear) and larger brakes (370mm front and 360mm rear).
